Naughty Nell's is a beautifully restored 16th century coaching inn at the heart of the historic market town of Shifnal, which was described by Charles Dickens in The Old Curiosity Shop. Grade II listed, the inn is surrounded by attractive half-timbered and Georgian houses and close to the Norman church which was one of the few buildings to escape a great fire in 1591 which destroyed most of the town. It was reputedly the home of Nell Gwynn and her legendary bed chamber.over 400 years of history at one of Shifnals most haunted locations.Naughty Nell,s!
I would like to thank all the people involved with this investigation and also a massive thankyou to management at naughty nells for making us feel very welcome.

My visit to Naughty Nell's a 16th century coaching inn at the heart of the historic market town of Shifnal, although this great Georgian house had such a great history and supposedly haveing such paranormal activity, failed to deliver, it seemed whatever we tryed had no effect but i do feel this loaction does warrent further investigation. WHY! the reports from staff and guests seemed to have witnessed paranormal activy from Glasses being picked up and threw on their own when the pub is shut , doors opening and closing on there own, people have even been known to have blood appear on their hands and legs for no apparent reason. An angry Sprit is also said to haunt the old barn area of the pub forever in torment for the crimes he commited! A strange feeling of being watched and hand driers switch themselves on for no reason in the ladies toilets is just some of the activity that has been recorded here.

Possible build date – early 11th century, but can be proven back to 1145. It was used to house masons constructing nearby St. Mary’s Church. Maybe slaves and children were also used for this purpose. The Inn was once a Church House and housed the now famous “Bishop” in the Bishops room – It is not clear if there are separate spirits of a Bishop, a Priest and a Monk or perhaps it’s the same spirit interpreted differently by people who encounter the said spirit. Ancient maps show original building could be 3 times as large as today’s building. There is a tunnel from the Fireplace in the bar to St. Mary’s Church – age unknown, and another to Lacock Abbey. These tunnels may have been used later on be Highwaymen and other wrong doers. The site is built on an ancient pagan burial ground dating back over 5000 years and is also built on a crossing of ley lines. Wottons last two Highwaymen frequented this premises and hid in the weaver’s attic.
There is good evidence of Devil Worship having been practiced at the Ram and also ritual sacrifice of children. There are countless accounts of murders that have taken place at the Ram.

Impression of researcher (accounts, sightings, etc)
On arrival we were greated by John Humphries' at the 13Th Century Ram Inn at Wotton Under Edge, which is reputed to be one of the oldest and most haunted houses in England. He welcomed us all in to his home to share some of his experiences whilst living in the property, he then went on to show us around this fantastic location and where some of the supposed paranormal activity was taking place. In my own words i will explain some of the experiences i witnessed at the ram inn.
On first visiting the witches room myself and Neil Sinnett both heard the sound of a cat meowing.
Also in the witches room myself Neil Sinnett,Anthony ledington,Andy & Samantha Bavington and Louise Homer all seemed to witness the floor vibrating rapidly.
The movement of a sword which in fact was heavy, started to sway left to right at the top of the stairs where noone at the time was in that area.
In the bar area myself Neil Sinnett,Samantha Bavington,Louise Homer, anthony ledington conducted some glass divination where at one point i noticed (and heard by the rest of the group) that the stool i was sitting on was being moved the only way to describe this is unseen hands was the stool being turned around whilst sitting on it, that was it for me, did i jump hm-mm yes of course lol
My final incounter involded the "Frank's Box" and is a controversial new tool within the paranormal field. Developed by a man named Frank Sumption, this box is also known as the "Telephone to the Dead," a device that can allegedly communicate with the otherside. Myelf and Neil Sinnett used the franks box in the bar area as i started to use this and call out
we was infact told KITCHEN, we then asked is this were you want us to go
it said YES
we then asked why
it said HURT
me being me i said bring it on then lol
the box then replyed GO THEN
but neil oppted not to go and i wasnt going alone at this point WOULD YOU!
We also got many names some of which were team crew and also names to do with the location?
I thought this investigation was really amazing with lots of bangs, rattles, swords moving, cats miaowing, threats on the franks box i feel this location warrants further investigation and put it this way I'm going back!

Well for myself it was an evening with a difference, first got to meet some new people(yourself included)who i hope will become good friends within the paranormal field and also outside it,did a group protection with everyone and a mass walk round with the whole group,a couple of the group sensed a few things happening round them, but not much happened as far as any orditary noises as such, but myself i deffinately felt we were being watched as we walked round.
After about 40mins we relocated back to base and then we split into two teams, myself and the members of Astralsearch uk,started in the cellers.
Where we did some glass divination and had some quite good results a young girl come through and although very weak answered a few questions we put to her,and helped her to move on.
I also picked up a spirit by the name of Samual,he showed Neil what he had done,or poss how he finished ending up,because Neil mentioned that his throat felt really tight,i had picked up from Samual that he had murder two people by strangling them,he was also hung for this at Stafford.
Andy(member of Astralsearch uk) who's becoming more and more sensitive to spirit, sensed that this spirit was standing right beside him,and had in fact tugged several times at his right arm,and although this spirit was asked to interact with other members of the group nobody else felt anything, myself i sensed a person standing behind Sam(a member of Astralsearch uk) who i felt was linked to her in some way,i discribed what feeling i was getting and some of the things he was giving me,and Sam confirmed it sounded very much like her Grandad, but unfortunitly i was unable to get him to give me his name.
At several times of asking him was told who are you,and why are you asking all these questions, leave me alone now.
Which i mentioned this to Sam,and she confirmed if around that is what he would have said, maybe even with more force or more colourful language.
Later the team moved upstairs to the bar area, did some glass work and again got some interesting results,(i was busy at this time doing a reading for the land lady dawn, but soon rejoined the team)
with one spirit coming through calming to be Andy's grandad, the team where a little doubtful at this,as there was also a spirit playing about with the team, and not really giving too many straight answers,i was called by the team to go down to them as they where having some probles with this spirit,i decided it was in the teams interest to stop,as i didnt feel comfortable with this spirit around me,as i had an experience with the same spirit at the same location two weeks earlier, and it wasn't pleasant,so decided for the teams own safty to stop the glass work, soon after this the invest drew to an end and we regrouped with the others said our good nights and went off to bed.
Sorry i babbled on abit Richie but you did ask lol,

When I first entered the courtroom I sensed something someone threw passed me which I though was through a wall. There had been a doorway there previously apparently. When I chatted to Tony about it the name Michael came to me which continued to crop up during the evening. He told me Michael was one for the ladies and would probably have liked my hair.
On the stairs I encountered a girl who was also seen by Tony and Kevin. I had the name Sophie and she briefly came through on the board but was frightened of Mr Samuel. She followed me most of the night. Small girl of around 6 brown hair.
In the cellar I encounted a small boy. Usually when children are attracted to me they draw near but this one sat in the corner. Tony told me Michael often showed himself as a young boy to confuse people and he also saw him follow me up the stairs.
In another part of the cellar. I saw an old woman crouched on the floor. Tess was very interested in this but didnt tell me why. I showed her how I saw her positioning herself. Later Tess explained she had also seen this woman on a previous event and this woman was heavily connected to witchcraft.
I also saw a large hond in the cellar which Rich said may have been picked up on before.
Dont want to ramble on as I am sure lots of other stuff I could tell you will cross over with what others have said.
Tina Crook
Hey Richie I picked up on a man called Samuel Tomkins, But addressed as Mr Samuel.
i first came across him in the cellar boiler room, i felt sick in the stomach and had to give myself reiki to calm it down.
I felt as if he was following me all night, and when Tess, Jane, Myself, and Tony did glass work upstairs later he came through very strong, he had been poisoned by his wife who he had used as a punch bag, on numerous occasions.
It's the first time he has come forward on an invest, and i feel it won't be his last.
Hope this helps

Tina

Location History
Work began on Wombourne Station in 1913, and the contract was given to Perry & Co. The first world war slowed the building of the line as Steel became an expensive item to find and use. In 1916 the line almost was never finished as there was a disagreement between Perry and Co's Billy day and the Great Western Railway over money. On january 11th 1925 the the new railway was opened and came into use. The service carried on until 1932, where a goods only sevice was continued till 1965. there was a short time in 1944 when the line was opened so as the wounded soliders from the war could be treated at himley hall just outside wombourne. The last train ran on the line on Saturday 27th 1965.Wombourne station became a ruin until the local council bought it in 1981. and turned the area into a public walk, Now the site is a tea room

Wombourne Station 1925 - 1932
Wombourne station opened in 1925 under the GWR on what is commonly termed 'the Wombourne Branch' which ran from the old OWWR line from Stourbridge to Dudley and joined the old GWR main line north of Dunstall Park. The photograph above looking down from the footbridge, taken from a postcard issued around the time of its opening, shows us that the station was originally known as 'The Bratch station', 'the Bratch' being a water course running near the site: this was quickly dropped in favour of a more geographical naming scheme. We can also see that, when compared with the other stops on the line, Wombourne was a station of some size (unlike the many halts on the route) with a water tower on the northbound platform and a signal box. However, the relative grandeur of the station did nothing to stimulate passenger growth and the station, as with the rest of the stops on the line, closed to passengers in 1932; a mere 7 years after opening. The line itself fared considerably better than the passenger services, however, and continued for goods traffic and as an avoidance line for Wolverhampton and finally closed in 1965. The trackbed is now utilised for the South Staffordshire Railway Walk.
Phenomena witnessed by investigator
The evening started off with setting up the camera on the platform took some doing but we did it ,There group decide to use the spirt board if from of the platform whilst myself and Neil decided to have a wonder round and take some photographs we seemed to end up at the back of the station where we started to experience some wired sounds, what we don't have no explanation for the only way to describe these sounds as breaking twigs on spending half hour away we was radioed back to come join the group and split in to groups to fully start off the investigation.
Findings
unkown female
This entity was picked upon by one of the mediums. She told us of an accident in which a young lad was killed.
research found that an accident did happen (in 1914) during the building of the railway where the station now stands.
it involed the death of a young boy named Marshall who worked cleaning the dirt from the axel's of the trains that carried the rubbish away from the site as the track was built.
He was killed when the train pulled away with him still undr it, another lad wa slightly hurt but lived.
The Platform Ghost/ A man and his dog.
we have found two names that maybe this entity the first was a station master who's name was Harry Shelley and was said to have loved the job he did spending alot of time at the station.
The 2nd persons name was J.F Harris and he was a porter and spent alot of time on the platform, doing his job.
Sarah
Without a surname only a first name we are unable to trace this person.
However the pratice of collecting slag from the nearby railway working was done and it was likly that this female did do this job.
The year given when this entity died does not match with when the railway was their as the medium said she died in 1848, but work on the railway did not start until 1913.
Jane
this entity canot be traced by our team.
A disagreement
Medium Laura Martin picked up on a heated disagreement at the location and two important men shouting at each other.
It is fact their was an argument that almost saw the railway never build over funds and how they where being spent between the head of Perry & Co and the G.W.R how thought Perry & Co where spending to much mone on track building.

E.V.P recording coming soon
i left a voice recorder on platform and when it was checked back there was the sound of a dog barking on it when no dog was on the site.
Also in the photo of wombourne station above dated 1925 there are two men stood talking one has a dog with him. the recording on our investigation was taken in the same area as where these two men and their dog stood.
The E.V.P still remains unexplained.

The investigation at Peascroft woods [bilston]
The wood covers an area of 3.8 hectares It was also home to a large hospital (named Mountford) it was opened in 1905 and was finally closed in the early 1950s ,during the 1960s the scouts built a hut on the site wher the former hospital once stood however ,due to vandalism the hut was moved a few years later.
Report found whilst reserching Mountford Lane fever hospital.
When I was about 8 years old I caught scarlet fever which is a highly contagious disease. As I had brothers and sisters at home, I was admitted to Mountford Lane fever hospital. It was about the time it was due for closure. When my mother came to visit me she was told that all the children had been sent to other hospitals. She was rather upset and went first to Moxley hospital where, with great relief, she found that I had been transferred there. Of course she was not allowed to see me, only through a window. I never saw my mother for about six weeks, which was very traumatic for a small child.
I now realise how I must have caught the infection. I had been to take a bag of goodies from the Sunday school party to my friend who, I discovered, was lying on the settee feeling rather poorly. Her mother had just popped to a neighbour's for a few minutes and so she was on her own. I didn't stay very long, but it was long enough for me to become ill.
My husband Ken, when a child, was sent to Moxley fever hospital suffering with a more serious case of diphtheria. He was put on the critical list and the names of these children were put on a notice board outside the hospital. His mother was very upset when she saw his name on that list and when she went home found a telegram had been delivered. She obviously thought it was bad news and was scared to open it. Thankfully, it was good news: Ken had been taken off the danger list and so was one of the lucky survivors.
Of course we both remember the school doctor, the dreaded dentist, and the "Nit Nurse". We also remember having the polio Salk vaccine on a lump of sugar and standing in the long queue among pupils from other schools in the 40s when smallpox was rife in Bilston and surrounding areas and we were all innoculated.
We were lucky in those days to have a very modern Clinic. We were extremely well looked after as young mothers awaiting our first babies. We were watched over by Dr. Nagel and given vitamin pills, orange juice, etc. to keep us healthy. How much luckier and healthier we were than our parents and grandparents! My mother avoided going to the doctor for herself because of having to pay, but always took us children.
more to come

just finished tonights investigation at the Cock Inn in Rubery The Cock is said to be nearly 200 years old the cock claims to have more spirits than those just behind the bar. also the spirit of a previous landlord Arthur Grimes amongst others roams this loaction ,we did have some activy within the cellar from knocks and unexplained nosies , also we had some good results whilst doing some glass divernation
do i think the cock is haunted at this stage all ill say is that this loaction warrents further investigation
history of the cock
At the foot of the Lickey Hills, just south of Birmingham, lies Rubery, a pleasantly rural village that has a history stretching back to Roman times. It seems a settlement originated here because of a large ford in the river Rea. Footsore roman soldiers and their thirsty horses would rest here on their way from the salt mines (at Saltley, would you believe!) to the roman baths at Droitwich Spa. Nearly two thousand years later the salt road still exists and is now a nature trail.
The village has at least two famous historical visitors. Ann Boleyn, Henry V111's unfortunate second wife, lived for a while at Rubery Manor (now long since gone). Dick Whittington, London's famous mayor, lived nearby before setting off with his equally famous cat. I've even heard that Buffalo Bill once set up camp here with a tribe of red indians. The oldest pub in Rubery is the Cock Inn, which in Victorian times was a farmhouse. Every year thousands of men, women and children would descend on the area to pick hops. The Cock Inn was a favourite destination for these labourers after a hard day in the fields. They would gulp down vast quantities of the potent, locally brewed ale. One can only imagine the drunken brawls and shenanigans that must have gone on here.
the lounge
Poltergeist activity seems to be taking place in the cellars. Staff regularly report problems pulling pints in the bar. When they go to the cellars to investigate, they find that all the gas taps have been tampered with. The landlords, Rob and Damien, have both been shocked to see the shadowy outline of a man in one of the lower cellars. Other people claim to have heard voices coming from the empty cellars. Not surprisingly some of the staff refuse to go down there, at least not by themselves. Female visitors to the cellars seem to trigger off strange activity such as lights flickering on and off.
the lower cellar
In the lounge of the pub the ghostly apparitions of a woman and a young girl have been seen for a split second before disappearing. Also in the lounge the landlord's three dogs have been seen, hackles raised, growling at seemingly empty tables and vacant chairs.
Our investigation began one night at 11:50pm. Temperature and EMF readings were normal to begin with. It wasn't long before we started to hear sporadic taps and knockings, some of which seem to be in direct response to questions asked. One of the investigators felt a pushing sensation on her back. Some of us could hear faint voices, as if a quiet conversation was going on in another room.
Another noise we heard seemed like a person shuffling about in the pub. A strange, whining sound was also heard, which the landlord Rob could not attribute to any equipment or machinery. Oddly, these sounds seemed to travel about, sometimes below us, sometimes above us. Two of the investigators experienced a cold spot in the vicinity of the pubs dartboard. I myself saw a shadow move across the bar. Rob the landlord has also seen this shadowy figure in the past. We all experienced strange vibrations and tingling sensations throughout the night and occasionally the floor seemed to shudder.

This experment involde placeing 3 marbles around the cellar in differnt areas within the cellar each marble as you can see from thes pics that this marble has moved, on the other hand the other two marbles had not moved.
This experiment involved 6 coins to form a cross after the evening came to a close we realised that most of these coins did in fact moved slightly both experiments where in fact witnessed befour and after taking each picture.
